Jason's Tip - Summer Trend 5: Outdoor Furniture
Choosing the right outdoor furniture setting for your space can be difficult because there are many things to consider. Make sure you ask these questions when choosing;
• Is the setting designed for use outside (will it last in rain, wind and UV)?
• What maintenance is required? If timber, does it need regular coating?
• Do you want a casual setting or a more formal dining area?
• How many people does it need to cater for?
This last question is where many people come unstuck because they choose a setting that is big enough to cater for all their family and friends but, all of these people only ever visit once a year so these massive pieces just gather dust for the rest of the year as they are unused.
MY TOP TIP:
Choose a setting that is big enough to cater for the people who will most often use the space – your immediate family! This way you won’t be losing valuable space with the clutter of a large table and lots of chairs.
For occasions where you need to entertain more people, consider informal seating like concrete block garden beds with capping stones which double as bench seats.
