There has been a shift in backyard landscaping trends over the past ten years with the look and feel of the many Australian backyards adopting inspired themes from around the globe. There is now an emphasis on extending the home living space into the backyard and making better use of whatever outdoor space is available, a renovation technique that may add value to your home. This recent trend to use inspiration from exotic locations around the world ensures the creation of a little piece of paradise as a retreat in our own backyards.
The Egyptian Backyard was created on Jamie Durie's backyard makeover show ‘The Outdoor Room'. This renovation was inspired by a trip to Egypt which then transformed an worn concrete jungle into a lush oasis with a little Middle Eastern spice.
The team used an array of different products during the renovation including brass objects, palms, free flowing water canals and beige Pallazzo Liscio pavers from Adbri Masonry range, to turn the garden into an outdoor room fit for a pharaoh. Given the large expanse and condition of concrete in the yard, the renovation team decided it best option was to lay paving sand on top of the solid concrete base creating a smooth surface to lay the attractive Adbri Masonry pavers which are a cornerstone of the renovation.
The Pallazzo Liscio pavers proved to be a great choice for this Egyptian style backyard, illustrating the diversity and ease of use that the Atenstone range can provide for any backyard theme. Kylie Johnson from Adbri Masonry explains, ‘Our paving range is very popular for home landscaping applications with many sizes and a large colour range which means you can easily create any look'.
